Cloud, was that a neck badge you mounted on your tank? How did you mount it? It looks great. I'm rehabbing my 07 CFL now and I'm going to send the tins for paint soon. I really like your idea.

Yup, regular neck badge. Trimmed off the mount tabs with a dremmel and used a fine file to get the edges tight. Tapped out the curve with a soft hammer, badge in a towel. I used the 3M Outdoor/HD 2 sided tape (the grey tape w/red peel away backing) to mount it.

I was able to get 2 neck badges from DayTech for $25 a piece. If I were you I'd get them on the horn and see if they have any left and buy them all if you can. There is already another neck badge on eGay for $300. Nobody has posted about it that I her seen, but dayTech is closing up shop and the CFL frame Jig is going to Austin.

I don't know if anyone ever noticed, but the neck badge on this bike is 24K gold plated… Worth every penny! Bwahahahahah!

Oh I noticed the 24kt gold... I think we all did... It looks awesome too !!

I didn't think it was as easy as double sided tape, lol.... I might just give Daytech a call. I saw the one on eGay, that's just nuts!

Yes, the Neck Badge is gold plated!

Can you plate (gold or chrome) without losing the details in the letters? For example, I have a WCC battery hold down, shifter linkage, etc ... Would the little WCC logo get filled in from the plating process and lose the detail in the engraving?

On the battery hold down I think it would fill in, the laser engraving is super fine on that.

I had that feeling. It's weird, there's a blemish on my battery hold down. It looks like something spilled on it, may be battery acid. It made a mark about the size of a quarter. I tried to polish it out but it's still there. It got better with the polishing but it's not perfect.

I can't wait to see the paint on your big dollar CFL. Time to start nagging hotdog too bad it has to come to that.

Wow... Thanks for the Link SKT! Whatever that effect is on the photo really makes the rust effect stand out. Shit, it looks way better in this pic than the way I see it everyday!

The Ugly Betch is going up for sale, hopefully someone will enjoy her as much as I did building her.

Breaks my heart in a way, but I have other bikes (too many), and not enough room in the stables for all of them. I need the space on the lift to finish the build for the Race It On Sunday, Sell It On Monday bike. The biggest reason, no joke here, I need to (no, I have to) take the opportunity I have to contribute a considerable wad of cash to my employers 401K type pension plan. Its kind of a one time deal to make a large contribution, so this is about my future.

I threw a dart at the board and it landed on $17K, thats what it cost to build just for parts and materials, no labor. I'll probably do a separate 'For Sale' post, but trying to avoid Flea Bay. PM me if you want an early crack at it.
