I don't know how to feel about that. Not a single status pic of my paint after 6 months but he is starting to build his new bike.... Hmmm. I don't wanna get mad about it, I just have to think of some careful word to encourage some progress updates.

Brad Barnes lays down some fucking sick paint (and many, many others including Fonzi) whos turn around times are much faster. Not comparing Hot Dog or trying to take away from his legendary status but you have to take the bad with the good when dealing with the ol skool famous cats...

Man, I guess I gotta just learn to be more assertive. I've been up to Hot Dog's shop at least 3 times and seen him at a few shows. He is doing some amazing work and now that he his new shop up and running the big projects don't stop… So I while I am standing there gawking slack-jawed at these amazing cars he is busting out I never get gumption to elbow him a little about when my bike is going to be done.
The body work on the tank and fender is done and ready for paint, but thats about it. In another post I showed where I took the frame home for a weekend and re-did the electrical passages the same way that my other CFL is. I guess I gotta start a texting and Facebook message campaign to get my bike on the schedule.
Take a look at his Facebook page to see all the cars he's been working on. He's hired a full time body guy to handle that stuff and he's looking for a girl to work the phones and front office.

Do I remember you saying he finished his CFL that you gave him for payment in this paint?

^ This for sure!

I understand patience - especially for great service, but it seems you've been waiting on this one for a LONG time!

What color/style is this one going to be?

No, not finished by far, but he did have some frame mods done. Kinda the same as the way my Ugly Betch frame was done, taking the step bends out of the rear triangle top tubes in the seat area and giving them a more tapered flow. He wants them done over again because he wasn't happy with the way they turned out. So its still just a roller with an old shovel sitting in it.

The only thing I told him was that I wanted the base color to be Pearl White, so there will be some metal flake in it. He knows the motor, primary, and trans are all gloss black and there is no chrome on the bike except the fork legs. So at some point he told FlySoCal he has something wild and new in mind…. so I am still waiting to see what that will be!
