Thanks everyone for the help, tips and support.
So I have been looking through my brothers pictures and I see tons of pics of the penny saved bike. Does anybody know the specs of that bike? I can't seem to find them anyhere.
I have been looking through Craigslist and eBay all day. Can't find a frame. Im not in a hurry, so I am sure one will eventually pop up.

Sorry for your loss. Building a bike will be a great way to get through this tough time. Hang in there!! You have come to the right place for CFL and WCC info.

Thanks again everyone.
Came across a guy who wanted $8500 for a 2up og roller. Had to pass on it. Seems pretty high. Wanted $2500 just for the FTW forward controls. Wow!

Sorry about your loss, there is nothing like having brothers, couldn't imagine life without mine so building this bike for him will be a nice tribute. I don't know if you are set on the CFL route but you can achieve the same classic CFL style while using other parts. Some guys on here would not share the same thoughts as me because building a true CFL means using strictly WCC parts. I never wanted to go the route of using the big name and paying big prices but I do like the CFL style so I went a different route when building mine. Just an idea of what else you could possibly do

Some WCC parts are good, some not so good...

You'll find a CFL frame eventually... there is one on eBay, a roller, the guy wants $5500 (3rd listing started today). I have no idea what parts are included in the roller because his pictures suck (posted with eBay mobile). Maybe you can email him and get the details, might be worth it.
As far as the parts go... I think the frame is really the only big thing that matters. The iron cross air filter helps make the look, but just not worth the $900 they are going for. The FTW controls? Garbage, they flop all over the place, good thing you passed on them. The Damraider forwards and mids are built with needle bearings, tight and smooth. WCC pipes would be cool, but there are so many other pipes out there that look the same, built just as well and won't cost you a kidney. Tins and gas tanks... same story. I bought a WCC peanut tank for $800 and its just too damn small... I got Greg Westbury to tunnel and frisco a Sporty King Tank for $750... With the gas cap and mounting hardware I technically spent more money, but the tank is bigger and fits the back-bone of my bike better.
Anyway, I could go on and on about this stuff. Best thing to do is take some time to learn the craft... Do your homework and hang with your friends who ride or build or both, ask questions... You'll get there. You can always ask me, send me a PM. Shit, I'll be glad to give you my phone number. And if you get all your parts together and need a hand I'll fly up to Denver for a weekend and help you mock it up.
