Well that's what I thought, then I searched El Camino thinking that was Americas first ute, and found out the first one was made in 1959. Then I was trying to figure out what Holden that is and figured out an FC. And just thought they both started at the same time.

Didn't even think about the old school Fords.

Regarding the rear suspension I have springs under the seat at the moment but once the bike is registered they'll go. The rake is 38 deg and at the moment the bike passes the 550mm rule. Just measured it and the bike doesn't pass the seat to handle bar length so we had to put HD bars and rotate them downwards and now it is all good.
whats the seat to bar length?

The lowest part of the top of the seat to the bottom of the hand grip, should not exceed 380mm, I'm going to check mine once I get it back from the welders.

For the fork length, looking side on, mark the centre of the neck of the frame, use a plumbob to mark this on the floor, use the plumbob to mark the centre of the front axle on the floor, the distance between the two marks should be no greater than 550mm.

And then the height of the frame must be over 100mm to the floor.

You should be fine on the handlebar rule as it's mainly designed to stop people running apes, if not just flip your handlebars over and give it the cafe racer look, or I have a spare set of drag bars you can borrow for rego.

You should be fine with the 550mm rule too if you've got the 2" up frame, even with raked trees. The 4" up frame will not fit within the 550mm rule even with 0 degree rake in the trees.

Thanks man, it's officially booked in to get all the welding done this Monday, can't wait to get the ball rolling again.

After the welding is done I can measure my heights, and finally sort out a nice set of handlebars and grips.

Finally sent it to the chop shop today! They seem happy to do everything for me, he's also fabricating something to hold my ignition key, and a battery box, apparently we need one for rego here *gay*

Meanwhile, Devo's awesome gear showed up today!
