You guys are brutal on JJ. I do not shop on WCC's website or watch much TV so maybe it is me, but I think the guy is alright. He has been building bikes with his own hands for years. Yes I know (or assume) he does not make frames and parts these days. But the guy can make some cool shit.

I like his bikes. In fact, I think they are the best out there. I'm actually building a CFL.

But the reality is he was at the right place at the right time and rode a good wave. I would hardly say he is a marketing genius. He says he never made any money on his bikes and I can believe it. It was the bike business that earned him a reputation and made him famous. The fame made him rich, not building bikes. I doubt he expects the shop to make money but it is still there because without it he will loose his credibility. Maybe there will be a "re-structuring" or maybe he will move the shop to texas but if he closes completely he is killing his brand and within a few years the WCC brand will be dead. I hope that doesn't happen. Talk a about killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

Maybe JJ is moving his shop out of state so he does not get screwed in taxes after Jan 2011. There are many large and small businesses bailing out of California at an alarming rate! California is a horrible place to do business because of the overtaxing, regulations, and ease of lawsuits.
No doubt. Remember, both he and Arlen Ness were both fined (read: 'extorted') by the California Air Resources Board for a cool two million dollars a few years ago. Enviro-criminal bureaucrats have ruined this state's economy worse than the housing crash. Good for James, I say. Just make friends with the local red & gold once you're all moved in.

JJ may have built one bike for an Angel but I hardly would consider that "taking sides". Wasn't there a picture floating around on here with a bunch of Mongols hanging around at WCC?

Jesse is friends wth all the local MC's.

Mongols and Vagos rolled up the first NLP I went to, just Mongols the 2nd....we even had snipers on the roof one year because they were looking for a Mongol who was supposed to be at the party.....

the HA was there last year (Big Schwag is one, he was there)

BTW, that's Bullshit. they are CLOSED. I have several friends getting bikes built right now, and they all spoke to Jesse today....All current obligations will be honored, there will be a small staff on hand to tie up lose ends, but for all intents and purposes, WCC is closed.

Jesse wants to focus on his family and racing right now.

Yes but he opens the post with "I got from a reliable source".....which people interpret in different ways

Keith Ball who's ALSO a reliable source posted in July they were closed also, not mentioning the fact that it was for a holiday weekend, and that got the rumors going months ago.
