I hear that Joe, and after MM1, I never saw so many companies in magazines, selling "English wheels" and "Planishing hammers".

I like it. It has that classic black and chrome, (even a chrome rear fender), old school look, before everyone used that term to death.

Nice thread! I like the early CFLs. The ones with exposed tank mounts, bolt on kickstands, no six gun nothing, raw chopper, CFLs.

Seeing that we're talking early CFLs, how about the "first" CFL.
This 113ci green bike was the first CFL to reach the market.
Always a fan of fast HD Sportsters, Jesse built the CFL as a sort of ultimate XL of his own design.
This frame, originally called the "Dragon" was designed with 38 degrees of rake, 2 inches of up stretch in the down tubes and 1 inch of forward stretch.

Notice the risers at this time were still shaped like the Choppers Inc. ones. (that's where Jesse got the idea and permission to use "six gun" products, agreeing to a copyright agreement from Billy Lane)

Notice the Bel-ray oil ad on the oil tank cap. I remember magazine ads with Jesse promoting the brand.

Well Dirty Santa....I mean Frank, I have always liked that first CFL. I normally don't like the color green, but that bike was cool.

Yea, I've often mentioned in other threads, how the CFL frame, especially the 2up version, is not your common, giant, stretched out example of a chopper.
These early pics of Jesse on a CFL, shows the relatively compact stance, like an XL, and although this red one has forward controls, many early ones had mid-controls, again like XLs.
