Sooo did anyone ever use a Hella on their build?

I've read some threads about guys buying Hella500s or 4000 compacts but did anyone ever go through with mounting one on a build and using it? If so how did it mount? Did you have to make or buy something or were you able to use the stock stuff that came with the Hella? Post pics if you have em... Thanks.

i went to my local HVAC guy had him cut me a cone and 2 backplates. just welded on 2 tabs with 3/8 bolt holes to 1 backplate to mount to trees then bolted that to the cone with the other backplate welded on. welded a few rounded nuts (done on a drill press with files) to the front of teh cone. I got the idea from a few pictures one member posted on here. had cone size too.
I used hella 4000 compact picked up from advanced auto parts

I think that guy has the right idea. Paint the light and just make a mounting block.

Mine is mounted with something like this: V Twin Chrome Extended Headlight Mount Harley Softail Springer Bobber Chopper | eBay

Beware that the beam is like a freight train at night.

Thanks 7, thanks Dragulac.... The 2 u guys posted look great, that's the look I want. I've seen some that stick way out and don't look right in my opinion. Which Hella are you running Dragulac?

Mine is a hella 500 driving, not fog. The fog version is a 500 ff, different light pattern. The 500's measure about 6 1/4. Hella has detailed size and lumen info on their website. There's also a hella 500 "black magic" that I started to use. It looks black when turned off.

What kind of light did it come with? Was it a motorcycle headlight or some kind of off-road light?

Someone made the curve part of the mount and it looks like the bottom part could have came from a different light or just fabbed out of aluminum bar stock . It's a HELLA

But I can't believe that everyone I see is on a shop built bike. I want one but I'd def go with Dragulacs set up if I couldn't obtain one.

They show up sometimes. I've bought mine on eBay. Keep and eye out and ask around.
