Still in the process of bagging and tagging a bunch of parts. Discovered I was missing some bolts the builder would need to mock up the fenders and a few other parts, and placed an order for them. Got the bolts in the mail a few days ago.

Also scored the LAST WCC part I would ever need to buy for my build:

Been wanting one of these for a good five years and I finally scored it. Never was huge on the Chopperfucker covers so I was holding out for an OG cover instead. Thanks Shane. Now I'll be able to drill the Primo motor plate to accept either the belt drive cover with forwards, or the FTW mids, depending on what I'm in the mood to run.

All my parts are boxed up, labelled and bagged with documentation. Had to take a two month break to pay an $1100 ticket for not having a DOT helmet. Next month I plan to move forward with this.

Moving to Las Vegas next summer. Gave things a shot out here in LA and I'm not making the kind of progress I want with my bartending, bike-building, and CFL project goals.

So...what's your plan to make the experience in Vegas different?

I can afford to rent out a good-sized industrial space out there to set up shop. Get into one of the casino nightclubs, start buying all the tools I'm missing now. I decided I'm not going to try to find a job at a bike shop. No one has interest in taking on an apprentice nowadays. I'll just do things on my own and pick things up for myself.

Good luck!

I just can't believe you're canning the idea of working in a bike shop.

Believe me, it's not for a lack of trying! Times have changed, with the economy and bike industry how it is, most shops either have no interest or can't afford to bring on a guy who has basically zero experience in the industry. Ten, fifteen years ago things might have been different. And I'm okay with that. The plan was always to start my own shop at some point.

Nah, no movement. Just finished the move to Vegas earlier this month. Didn't like what warehouse units were available so I wound up getting a 9-month lease on an apt and will reevaluate things at that time.

Nothing really left on the build except all the fabrication and buying the engine, which I'm holding off on until I'm ready to install and fire it up. Don't want the motor sitting for years in a crate rusting away.

Sometimes I wonder if this bike will ever get finished. Life always seems to get in the way.

Any leads on parts? I need a cfl crown air filter and matching belt guard. Been looking for a while but haven't had much luck. Thanks
