Charity auction coming up for Street Chopper editor
Hey Guys,
Just thought I would start getting the word out. Some you may have already heard, but Courtney Halowell, the new editor of Street Chopper and Bikeworks magazines, suffered a stroke over last weekend. It's a screwed up situation, as Courtney, who's only 38 years old, had just started running the two magazines and his health insurance through publisher Primedia wasn't effective yet, so all of his medical bills and all the expense of what looks to be a lengthy recovery are going to be his to shoulder alone. He's a family guy and a good friend to a lot of us in the custom H-D as well as automotive hot-rod industries. Street Chopper feature editor Ernie Lopez is working with Bikernet boss Keith "Bandit" Ball to set up a support fund as well as an upcoming charity auction to help offset some of the bills set to hit Courtney here during a very difficult time.
I'll be chipping a one-of-a-kind black anodized billet air cleaner and a set of our billet web fender struts, as others including Leroy Thompson, Hank Young and Carribean Custom Cycles have also already pledged parts to help the effort.
As I get more information abouts dates on the auction, which it sounds like be held on Ebay, I'll be sure to post them up here, as well as the account they're establishing if you'd just like to shoot a few bucks his way without bidding on parts.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I'll post any news ASAP.
Thanks again,
Justin @ Two-Bit Choppers LLC
