The Ghetto Flake Deluxe - Two-Bit Choppers
Hey Guys,
So we're getting ready to tear into another final assembly on our latest mutant project for CC Member Corisian who hails from sunny Bend, Oregon.
I can't begin to explain how cool I think it is that one of my bikes is going to be the bar hopper that don't belong in a sea of Hooligans and other BMC's as apparentely nine tenths of the Oregonians from those parts ride the home brand. No anamosity for Big Mike, I just like being different, and apparentely so does my customer.
Anyway, on the build we started with Redneck's standard 3-out, 2-down, 40-degree Mutant Buell chassis, short cut rear fender, pretty much very similar to my personal black bike, expect we opted for the $500 stretch, drop tank option - here's one Redneck built using it. -->
We opted for the Bassani Sweeper pipes -->
And it's also getting one of our new web billet air cleaners -->
Along with some other Two-Bit bits like a web sprocket cover and brass knuckle shift linkage.
So, I'm still waiting on the frame and a few other bits back from the powdercoater to get going in earnest, but I did manage to shoot a few pics of the tins after striper Mart Ford was finished and before I got them back to the painter for a nice deep clear bath.
The tank:
$.25 detail:
Rear fender:
Front fender:
I'll wait to explain what we did with the frame until I can show you a picture later this week. Let's just say it's anything but subtle. Let me know what you guys think and I'll get more up as I have it.
Later,
Justin @ Two-Bit Choppers

A quick update:
Things are rolling along nicely after we received the frame and other powdercoating back last Wednesday. The frame turned out great, nice deep red flake.
A couple of pics:
So I tore right in with just a over a week to have the bike done and shook down before I have to get it to Idaho on the 23rd. Three long nights and the light at the end of the tunnel is visable. Engine in, plumbing run, majority of the electrical finished, obviously the wheels and rotors need put together, as well as a bunch of other odds and ends. She'll fire tomorrow night, and hit the road for real the following morning.
Check it out and let me know what you think!
Later,
Justin @ Two-Bit Choppers

another fine looking mutant. I really like the red frame and black tins. I'd say the new owner is lucky.

Glad you're digging it Randy! Of course if you didn't at this stage of the game we'd probably be in some pretty deep trouble all the way around. In all seriousness though, it's really coming together well, just enough black just enough red, good lines with the pipes and tank. She's going to be a looker, that's for sure. Got the chrome air cleaner back as well - super nice job by Chromemasters and it works really well with everything else.
I'll keep you updated as I finish up.
Later,
Justin @ Two-Bit Choppers

Hey Guys,
Well she's finished. Runs like a top and hasn't skipped a beat in about 50 shakedown miles thusfar. I really like how everything came together, the stretched drop tank with the Bassani Sweepers makes for a real nice line and the use of that new red metalflake powder makes her shine like a disco ball out in the sun. Let me know what you guys think, and congrats to CC member Corisian (aka Straight outta Bend Randy) on getting to park this baby in his garage come Sunday. Now he just needs to get it entered in the October Chopper of the Month!

Nice build! Who's tank is that? and can that tank be used with 2 in stretch? Color combo is sweet.

mutantbuell, you said "the build we started with Redneck's standard 3-out, 2-down, 40-degree Mutant Buell chassis" isnt the standard frame 1-down, just curious im not correcting you.
