Hello, I have a new Trikshift 6-speed transmission that makes excessive whining sound in the RSD 3rd, 4th but especially 6th gear.
I use Lucas gear oil sae 80w90.I have 30% heavy duty oil stabilyser added to the oil, but that makes it sound not much less.
The gearbox is placed in combination with a Revtech 110 engine and ultima primary belt.
Maybe you know what could cause this abnormal noise.

The whine maybe the belt and pulleys mine does it also, most six speeds make a rattling sound in six gear if its ultima it will more than others.

Thanks for your reply.
I also thought that the belt was the cause, but in the 5th gear runs everything nicely around without mechanical noise. The real noise actually begins only when i shift in the 6th gear.
at higher speed in 6th gear seems to be the noise somewhat less.

My Ultima LSD six speed doesn't whine but it certainly does rattles in sixth gear like Batto mentioned. The rattle diminishes the faster you go.

t seems so normal, this abnormal noise.
Maybe word it less when the gearbox makes more mileage.
In any case, thanks for your comments. I keep in any case open to ideas or suggestions, which can reduce this abnormal noise.

Hey Scully; saw your thread and wanted to see if you could help me with a question I have about finding an old sputhe tranny, they made a 5 in a 4 box but with reverse. I am building an 84 shovel with a 68 servi car rear end. I just have the stock 4 speed. I ain't getting any younger so I am riding my RoadKing less and less. Hence me aquiring a trike but I am building it to my specs, hopefully. Just want to have a safe way to get around and not hurt anyone in the precess. I use my bike in my work and ride almost year around. Any help would be most appreciated, had to use spelchek for that word, but i just want to get this bike rolling . jw

Anyone know where I can find parts for a Trik Shift RSD 6 speed. My hydraulic actuator has a small leak, trying to find replacement cover.
