First build. . carb question/advice

About to start my first build. I have zero experience and very little knowledge, so i decided what better way to learn than to dive right in!
Anyway, I picked up a 78 suzuki gs750 for $200. As far as I can tell it is complete other than the tank, airbox and headlight.
I'm about to start tearing it all apart and I'm looking for suggestions on how to free up stuck carbs. the bike has been sitting for a long time and all of the slides are stuck . Also any other advice for a complete noob would be greatly appreciated!

cheers!

If it's just a stuck slide, you may get away with just wd 40...Hopefully your needle valves are not stuck too, you will know when gas pours out of your over flow tubes..if not,you may be good to go..if it does, be ready to go get a can of carb cleaner..
