Ultima vs BDL "fix" jackshaft

Since everyone was debating whether or not the BDL fix jackshaft will work with Ultima belt drive to cure the not engaging/grinding problem, thought Id post this. Got mine today and will put it in tomorrow but took some pics of them together first. Top is Ultima, bottom BDL. Red line on Ultima is where bolt head seats inside unit. BDL bolt is longer but seats outside shaft so they are approximately same. Both ends measure .683 diameter on mine so thats same as well. Overall length is different but should be same when splines are seated in starter. BDL has shims to change alignment if needed. Ill remove and install it this weekend and take some pics on starter as I go but for now here is how they look. So far looks like just a bolt in fix.

I would think you are going to have to trim the bolt on the "fix" so it does not stick out as much. If you don't it may hit inside the cover. Not sure...

If it does and I dont know yet, Ill just drill inside cover to accomodate it. Its pretty thick. Ill post it as I go since several people were asking, as well as me. Being able to shim it from middle of shaft is gonna help too.

Good deal....How about the jackshaft cover? Will you have to modify the cover or not? Guess I will find out on Monday when I install my BULLETPRUF without my new wallet!

mw521...Good info with pics.

From the pics it appears there is only about an 1/8" difference in overall length. Does'nt seem like that would be enough to interfere with the cover but I could be wrong.

It doesnt interfere with cover. I installed it, cranked it several times, and removed cover. Its not touching at all.
