Bullet Proof Jack Shaft -- wow

After a few weeks of using the Bullet Proof Jack Shaft I have to say that it works perfectly.

I had corrected the "snap" that occurs when the original jackshaft did not seat properly but I was still getting the 'spin' 2 times out of 10 starts. Then I'd have to kick it in gear and and rock the Venom a smidge to get the next attempt to work.

With the Bullet Proof Shaft I have not had one problem with spinning. This has been my personal experience with this item - it might not be what you need - but then again if you hate looking cool on your newly assembled ride only to have the starter spin when you really wanted to smoke the tires on the way out of the rally -- I'd consider it for the $100 bucks it cost.

Got any ideas on how to keep the starter from turning so I can torque the new jackshaft on there without pulling the starter motor?

Wedge a screwdriver or something between the teeth of the starter gear and place it against the edge of the BDL primary where the starter comes through.
You can jam it in that area and allow you to torque it.

That's what I did. At only 12 ft lbs, I think I got it. Liberal dose of locktite too.

Sounds like this Bullet Proof Jackshaft will take care of "spinning / zinging" issue I very often experience when going to start the bike ... is this correct guys?? I need to correct this somehow. Who are you guys buying this Bullet Proof Jackshaft from? It would be for an '04 prostreet venom.

I occasionally get a "BANG!" when I start mine. And it doesn't start. Like the jack shaft is hitting the primary plate, hard. Would the new shaft take care of that?

I was getting both -- the BANG - which is what happens when the stock shaft teeth only catch a little and then snap out instead of starting - and I was getting the spin / zing which happens when the teeth fail to engage at all.
The Bullet proof shaft has worked for me 99.9% - just one bang since install - no spins. When you see the construction and the second spring you'll see why it works so weel.
