I need to change the nose cone on my scoot, and it has a long tube for oil on it. I have a couple of other nose cones that do not have this tube, but don't know what year they're from. What year(s) had these tubes in the nose cone?
The cam cover with the tube is for a breather case engine. 70-93. The cover without is a breather head version 94-99.
When I built the engine in my hotrod FXR I used a breather case with the newer style head breather cam cover and breather heads to help vent the crankcase better. The key here is the cam cover gasket has to match the era of the cam cover. The early cover uses a gasket that seals off the breather cavity.
Got it! I want to change this out with a polished cover, but can't get Carlini to make me a new torque plate! There's apparently no one else on the planet that needs a torque plate for an EVO to 6 speed transmission. They won't make just one unfortunately.
The last bike I built, I did not use a torque plate and cracked my BDL aluminum inner primary
