Plug gap and timing dual plug pan
Finished installing the dual coils last night. Tonight is gonna be final touches, question is... What is a good baseline timing for a dual plug 98 ci pan, dyna green coils, ultima programmable ignition. Also, with the new dual plugs should I tighten up the gap, open it up, or run standard on the plugs?

I ran dual plugs on a 100" pan/shov and the difference was very noticable if I unplugged 2 plugs. It will fire quicker with the flash going in both directions accross the piston instead of 1 flash so don't go crazy with advance or you'll get ping real quick. Keep a close eye on the plugs all the time and make sure they don't turn white. I can't help you with the electronics, I always ran a mag or distributer with the set-up, I never noticed any advantage over the 2 other than with the mag I could wire the whole bike with 3 or 4 wires.

Wow! I'm at .040!! Stock is 38-42? The idle is super smooth now, and my butt dyno tells me it pulls harder. Now I need to dial in my S&S e. I've got a bad flat spot bout midway thru throttle (main jet). It was an 80 and I dropped down to a 78. Feels better but I really need to knuckle down and devote an evening to comparison.

its hard to get rid of that bog in the older motors. the e carb comes from s+s set up for 100+ motors so don't go to big on jets, I found even the stock installed jet could be a wee bit smaller.

Well, let me throw this out to you guys then, iirc I've got a 295 inter and 78 main, apprx 42" pipes with baffles. S&S specs for basic initial set up. The roll on is good but she falls flat on her face when the main kicks in. I tried a little more acc pump but still does it. I need to do a good throttle chop and check plugs but for a dual plug single fire 98" pan should I be pretty close or do you see drastic jet changes?
