Need Help on Ignition Wiring

Went to FINALLY start the build bike and it was a no go...got fuel and no spark. This is an ultima setup (motor, harness and "stock" ultima ignition)". This is my first build so im learning as I go..I have all the wiring in frame where posssible and all the wires covered with wire covering to give a clean look (and make it a BITCH to get to! lol). Well after some trouble shooting I found out I have no power to the module. The wiring HARNESS diagram shows a wire (white/black) from the harness that says it goes to the + side of the coil. The IGNITION MODULE wiring diagram says to "find the "white wire that has power going to it when BOTH the key and the run/stop switches are on" It states that "some MODELS have only a single white/black wire" It then says to "attach this AND the white wire from the ignition to the coil+......

Alright.
My MODULE has no white/black wire. It DOES however have a white wire. Now the wiring HARNESS does have a white/black wire it shows to run to the + side of the coil....(no power though going to it at any point though.....)

I have NO wire from the HARNESS that has power going to it when BOTH the key and run/stop switches are on...( I am not using a run/stop switch. I have a WCC Pollock brand switch that has off,run and start)

My question is this...since none of my wires have power when BOTH are on can I just run a wire from the "RUN" post of the switch to the the ignition + side? When I do this I then get power to the ignition module anytime the ignition key is in any position other than "off"

Thanks folks for the help ( i hope!)

Yes, running a wire like that will work just as you've stated, BUT, I highly recommend running the power wire from the switch through a circuit breaker before you attach it to the coil.

Thanks for the help. I have a couple of questions though. The power supplied TO the key switch (that I will be running the power to the ignition module off of) DOES have circuit protection. therefore Do I still need one? Also what size would do? And can I just use a regular automotive atc fuse for protection?
Thanks again

If the circuit has protection then all will be o.k. auto type fuses are fine.good luck mate.

so would the "circuit" be from the the key switch to ignition module (which currently has no protection) or from the battery to key switch to ignition module (which does have protection between battery and key switch)?
Thanks for the help

You're fine with the circuit breaker set up you have. I like to isolate things though, one circuit for ignition and one for lights, that way if you have a light short out your bike will still run.
