Question Evo's Chopper Build

Instead of asking question in multiple threads, I am going to stick with this thread for my build. So far I have had help with alignment problems and wiring ideas. I am currently waiting for my parts to line up my drive and will have questions as I am putting that together. My next question is motor mounts....
Considering I have a rigid frame with a big inch motor, (127 ci), should I get a solid one piece mount or one that comes in pieces? I am considering attaching my coil to the mount.

I had my oil tank mounted to the front and decided today to remove the brakets and start over. Will be posting pics this week to get some ideas on new brackets. It is a oil tank shaped like a maltese cross. Anyone ever use a model-T sight glass on thier oil tanks?

On a one off there's no reason why you can't make a 1 piece mount.

Thanks! Tomorrow I am going to take a picture of me holding the oil tank where I want it to go and see about getting some ideas on mounting it. What I had on there, I dont believe, was strong enough.

Thats what I was thinking... I have seen some hevy duty mounts with screw holes for the coil mounts in and ready to go. But, I might try and save some $ and bend up some 3/8 flat bar... Still practicing my TIG welding before I do more than tacks. My goal is to have that mastered this next month. I liked my MIG welder but am slowly loving the change over to TIG. I am thinking if I decide to make this mount myself, I best make it strong. Thanks for your help.

Merry X-mas everyone... Ok, here is where I am at right now in my build.. Trying to find the best way to mount my oil tank. I definitely want it mounted to the front but could use some suggestions on mounting it.. Any tips? Thanks! I mounted the cap up top but will be removing it and putting a longer filler tube. I just received a TIG welder last month and am practicing before I start welding on my sled. Still have lots of practice to go.

I am thinking I am going to buy a plasma cutter here in a couple weeks so I can cut out some mounting brackets for this oil tank. As of right now I have been getting away with a cutting wheel and bench grinder. Best bang for your buck in plasma cutters?

Anybody have access to a CNC to make a couple brackets?? Could either send tank or a cardboard cutout of the piece I need.

I purchased the Eastwood TIG 200 AC/DC Welder and wonder if I made the mistake of not getting the plasma cutter combo they was offer with this unit... I have been spending a couple hours a week practicing my welding on a lawn cart and my mower deck.. Not quite ready to weld on my bike yet but will be soon! Any input at any of the questions in my other posts? thanks!

Looked more closely at my seat out of the box after being delivered the other day... Not sure if I am happy with it or not. Really like some of the work that some have done on this site so I might be changing my mind on that... Plus, I hate the look of the scissor style shocks that came with this seat. Dual shocks perhaps???

why get a plasma cutter? I usually take an idea, with a cardboard cut-out to a local shop, and they cut the tab or piece any way I want, with any thickness steel, aluminum, etc, for $20-$50. If the edges are rough, or I need to modify it a bit, I can do that myself. A lot cheaper than investing in a lot of equipment you wont use too much

He may want to cut other things out, anyways, remember a hand plasma cut is not going to come out like a piece cut on a $100K plasma table.
