for mine as well in Ontario Canada,no signals,or front fender, as long as you have rear tail light , head light, horn your good to go....as for Vin# just need a sworn paper stamper form the towns clerk with your receipts from the build. don't really need a mso

Makes me want to move to another state, or CANADA!... Here in Ohio, you have to have everything that would be on a show room floor motorcycle, including a high beam indicator . Was the exact words from the inspector at the inspection garage in Zanesville Ohio. Its a bummer to say the least. I have to completely assemble this bike, including wiring, before paint. Have it inspected and then strip it back down and make it the way I want. You dont need turn signals and only one mirror to ride yet you need everything for an inspection on a new build.. WTF! OHIO SUCKS!!!

It's the same shit in MD. But, you can at least bend the rules a bit if you are dealing with a nice guy. Like saying your lights are reflectors, or that your primary is your chain guard.
Everything else just ghetto rig up, and rip off that evening. Mount a little light, and switch panel to your bars, and run a harness separate from your main harness.

I am going to have to do just that, ghetto rig it!.... Going to be calling tomorrow to see what I need to do to get an appointment for inspection. Might as well get a heads up now. From what I understand, I have to go to the court house and pay to have it initially done. Bunch of bureaucratic bullshit!

Like I posted earlier in this thread, do everything cheap, and "disposable" for inspection. Don't rig anything up permanent, like internal wiring for turn signals, or drilling holes for them. Wire them externally, with quick connectors, and when you pass Johnny Law Inspector, rip that shit off! I used a $15 bicycle speedometer "mounted" to my handlebars and taped to the forks. It only went up to 45mph! These inspectors don't really give a fuck, and will pass you if they can check a box. Be very polite with them, distract them from certain parts of the bike, and don't give out too much info on the bike. Good Luck!

Thanks rooter! Hopefully this will happen before summer. I am always trying to stay one step ahead. Hoping my brackets for the oil tank is done by this weekend! Looking forward to welding it up and mounting. Will post pics of that.. Thanks

2 brackets almost ready to go. Just a little bit of shaping with a grinder and weld some tabs on. I am welding the brackets to the tank and bolting them with square stock on the inside of the frame. I am worried about the braided oil lines underneath so I might move it closer to the frame. Or say "Fuck It" and scrap the whole "up front " idea. The look I like...... Looking to try out another rear fender as I do NOT like the one I have... 10.5" anyone?? Trial and error till its the way I want it.... Even if it takes longer!

Any input on how you guys feel about oil lines running on a front mounted oil tank? How high above pump? Should I worry about exposure?

Perhaps I should consider running some hard oil lines from the bungs to frame?

all depend on your likes.. I wouldnt mount the oil tank above the rocker boxes.. .. the flex lines will work fine... unless you just like the look of hard lines..
