S&S 113 cam choice
I have an S&S 113 engine that came is in a Propper Chopper that was sold new in California. I am sure that the engine is a California certified bike with a California approved cam. I don't use the higher RPM range, at 75 the engine is only turning 2500 RPMs so I would like a cam that has low end torque, what are my options? I certainly could call S&S and get their recommendations but they are going to recommend there own cam which may be the way I go. Any suggestions, thanks..................

I agree with crackbaby the Zippers is a great cam but it might not just bolt in since it has .650" lift......You can call S&S with the engine serial # and if it was factory built they can tell you how much lift you can run without taking it apart to check everything. I run the Redshift in ,ost of the 113's we build in-house. The S&S .600 is a good cam as well but also might not bolt in an epa motor.

I got a Woods 650 lift cam in my 117. Max torque is 127 at 2600 rpm.

If you do call S&S, ask to speak with Jon Olsen, he works in their performance engineering dept, he knows his stuff and is a real good dude..!

crazy to run a ....hligh lift cam and cut motor life in half....S&S 562 CAM THAT IS NOT MADE NO MORE...RAN 127 TQ mostly threw out the range, has to be plenty of 560 lift cams made making big torque.....

MAKO6 thanks for the heads up. I do plan on calling S&S tomorrow and I will ask for Jon Olson. I do not run hard like some of you guys and I don't want to cut my engine life in half, but always looking for a little more............
