another dumb question

Besides oil.... whats in the inside of an oil tank..
gadgets? regulators? whatever..?

The build Iam planning requires a round oil bag made to the frame manufacturers specs.....? could i customize any oil tank.. I will be doing a sporty chop...

Sometimes metal particulates, if you are unlucky. Seriously, just oil. If you do a Softail horseshoe type you can do you wiring inside the battery compartment. Rectifier needs air for cooling.

If the return or a breather fitting or both are going to be located on bottom of the tank, they both have to have a tube that reaches above the oil level.

There isn't any thing fancy in an oil tank. For my 80 sportster I got one feed line coming out on the bottom and two other return lines, one is the real return line and that one goes through an oil filter that attaches on the left side engine mount. That's one thing that was stock, but I just bought that mount for it so the filter isn't where the stock ones are. That's an easy thing to use and the filters even come cromed now.
