Would a dyno be recommended

I have about 1500 miles and a new set of pipes. I did re-jet and it and it is running fine. I just want to be sure it is rich enough and I am also getting the most power I can (with this type of pipe).

Save your money and the wear and tear on your motor

Unless you're planning on racing competitively, you don't need a dyno to tune your carb

Follow the steps in the S&S Super E and G Tuning Manual, and you can do it your self

rich enough and most power ..... are two different things...peak hp on a dyno will be on the lean side...riding in the street a little different story...

Dynoing anything that isn't EFI is just stupid. Not to metion as Merlin stated the wear and tear on an engine.

I have followed the carb guide in the S&S manual, and with the exception of decel popping the thing runs really good. thanks for the advice.

Popping on deceleration is completely normal

You just don't hear it on a lot of bikes because of the mufflers/baffles

the main is stock and I changed to a .295 on the intermediate (up one). I am in Denver, though, so your results may vary as they say.

Harley Davidson makes you think everytime you put a different set of pipes and air cleaner on a bike you have to dyno. All those tuners should be plug and play. Like every bike is so much different, bullshit! they are just making cash for these tuners that you cant program yourself . Pay $500 for a SE tuner and 1.5 hrs dyno time to get your 70hp tc96 "tuned". What a joke.
