I got 'dem LAF's on my chop...like you, wanted FUNCtinal & CHEAP...the flames & backfiring bugged the shit out of me, and added to me buying socks for my constantly burnt right foot..haha...but I put some homemade "baffles" in 'em (1.5" washers welded on the end of a thrd stud), and now I'm loud & proud & un burnt on my right foot....ps-never had any low end torque issues, either before...or after...but dont EVEN think the chrome will last 5 minutes...

Well, I don't build trailer queens. I ride my bike up til the snow flies. Most of my drag pipes and exhausts get stained anyway from sneakers melting on them or fucking spilt beer. My pipes usually blue within a few days no matter what voodoo style measures I take to keep them from not blueing. I've tried it all and they still get stained, burnt, or scratched. I can't see spending $600 bucks on an exhaust system. I ride in the rain and don't spend my weekends polishing my bikes. I hit the car wash and wax the chrome...then ride.

I know we all want to be cool an excepted by the crowds. But sometimes you just have to step off the safe curb and go it alone.
