Wow $$$$$$$

Talk about a high dollar Engine.
Just for giggles I called Zippers Performance.
All TwinCam...All Full Show Polished and Pre run/Dyno'ed...
95" 105-110 RWH........$10,149
107" 120 RWH..............$12,149
120" 120-130 RWH.......$14,149

All engines built on a OE Harley platform.
I know Zippers is some good stuff...But

They also stated, fully polished is OK...as long as the fins arn't cut paper thin as they have seen some as thin as "potato chips".

$10k for 110hp? That's just stupid.
A ZZ502 big block only costs $7,300.

HAHAHAHAHA

All my parts only add up to 13K. My engine was just $2650 new out of the box.

That is absolutely rediculous. But if you got the cash then be my guest.

This is an interesting topic, There is a Nascar engine builder near me the the price for a 350inch 7 to 8 hundred hp engine is close to $60,000 but a good high performance 350 engine can be had for around $4000.
If one were to take and detail a Harley style engine more to the degree that the automotive racing engines are it would take over 50hrs of labor. That would make the labor alone around $3000.
In the automotive racing industry there is a lot of tricks such as hot honing the engine blocks, that is heating the engine blocks and even pressurizing the cooling channels, have torque plates on all surfaces and hone true the cylinder and main bearing bores, ect.
Harley engines can really benifit from these techniques, but attention to detail is labor intensive.
If one were to hold the tolerance required for a Honda 4 cyl car engine on a Harley style engine, the labor would exceed the price of a stock engine.
