You certainly cant even do the simple repairs on your own bike.
Your massive movement to drive me off clubchopper is only a very few.
Your hijack of this thread only exposes more to what is in a quality engine.
Keep it up you are doing fine.

Ah yes, I'm well known for my length ... of prose. Sigh.

OK, I'll admit I've had a good laff (and not all of it at Don's expense), but I would actually like to see the tear down pic's of the R/T motor, or am I being too boring? My defence is that it's actually a chopper website, so I come here to exchange views on ... dimwitts, sorry, no, choppers.

I have contacted an owner of a R/T 100. This engine snapped off the sprocket shaft. The shaft most likely broke off due to over torqing the drive pulley, as the 100 uses a rather poor copy of the later evo crankshaft with a 4 3/8" stroke.
We will have to use the EDM machine to cut the outer Timken bearing to remove the flywheels from the left case.
I consider the crankshaft to be the base of any engine, and there lays the main problem with these engines.
And dont forget the I have posted replacement crankshaft options.
But to be fair and point to one positive aspect, it appears that the heads seem to have a good flow to them, that is, when all else is ok, the engines do seem to run better then some others. Although there have been reports of rocker and valve spring failures here on clubchopper.
When the guy gets around to bringing this mess over I will post some terribly graphic photos of the lower end shortcomings.
But wouldnt photos of an XR 750 build be more interesting?

Don

All joking aside, I would also be interested to see the findings.
