if each turn signal switch needs a hot wire i understand you can supply it off of one hot wire.can the headlight be connected to this wire also?

i have a similar question:

with the tun signals, is it the bulb's wiring (?) that causes it to blink? or does the kind of switch you use cause it to blink? i know this is kinda dumb, but i have a bunch of old lights lying around that i was thinking of using on the project and wasn't sure if i needed any special switches?

thanks

- jason

Neither. It's a flasher that's either 1), wired into the sytem, or 2) included in a circuit board. Dual filament bulbs have 1 filament that lights up for continual light during running and 1 filament that lights up when the flasher circuit is activated. Switch just turns it on.

gpp,
the headlight would need to be tied to the power before the switch,
or it would blink

Jason,
you need a controller or a flasher to make the bulb blink
the bulb is a bulb
it's not like a christmas light bulb

The flasher (circuit board or the little can) supplies the momentary juice to each turn signal. As mentioned, it doesn't matter if it is single or dual filament type. The hot lead goes to the flasher first, it then supplies juice to the appropriate turn signal circuit on a momentary basis.

Nope. Korea, 14 hours ahead of you. By the time you thought of the question, we already had the answer.
