230 tire, rigid frame, 13.5" space

I have a rolling thunder frame for a 230 rear tire and 1.5" belt setup. There is 13.5" of open space between the rear of the frame where the tire goes. I'm most likely gonna mount the tire on a 7" rim.

I would prefer to run an EXILE sprotor brake set-up. Is the 13.5" of space I have too much to go to just a sprotor brake? Will the other side look too "empty"?

are you saying thats the set-up i should go with???

im sure you meant 240/40-R18 metzeler. I think im gonna go with that tire and now use the sprotor. I like the lower profile look of the 240 anyway.

Thanks alot eyecandycustoms!

im now seeing that they do make a 240/50- 16.

decisions, decisions, lol

metzeler only recommends 7-8" rims for that tire. Im thinking of going with the 240/50-16 with the 8" rim. From the metzeler website is looks like that tire will be about 9.5 inches across when i mount it. I hope that tire takes up the right amount of space with the 13.5" width i have to work with without having to use a giant spacer on the right side.

I hope with this tire i can mount it with the exile sprotor and have a super clean look.

any more ideas or suggestions???

Black bike can make any size wheel you want for that 240/16 metzler. There shouldnt be any reason you cant run the exile sprotor setup, but i would check ito killer choppers sprotor setup. They use a 4 piston brake rather than exiles 2-piston setup. Exiles is a little week.
