Ultima El Bruto Engines

I'm getting ready to buy my drivetrain for the custom I'm building. I want to get an El Bruto but can't decide on the 113 or 127. I've heard the 127 my be a bit much on the HP (140) ond it my be a little tempermental to run. Any suggestions and who has the best deal on a drivetrain?

I've got a 127 in mine and its AMAZING. Just take it easy on the throttle and you'll be fine. It runs real smooth, its not as totally out of control as you would imagine untill you get on it a bit.

I dont have many miles on mine yet so I cant tell you about durability or anything like that, but so far I'm extremely happy with it.

how many miles do you have on it? I've heard that an engine that big is not for everyday ridung beacuse it's very tempermental and tough to keep running correctly. I would really like to get the 127 ,so I would like to get as much feedback as possible...thanks

I have a 127 with about 700 miles on it. So far, so good....no problems. You have to run it like a muscle car, it wants the gas. As long as the rpms are high its pretty smooth. I get about 36m per gallon too.
Honestly, if I had to do it again, I would probably do the 113. The 113 has enough getteee up, so save the $400-500

I had an Ultima 113 but had lots of problems with the valve train. Ultama was very good to deal with but the problems kept getting worse so at around 2000 miles they swapped out the motor with a new one it lasted 50 miles and it sounded like the crank shaft bearing packed it in. At that point they offered to return my money I am now running an S&S 113. Believe me I have nothing but good things to say about Ultima as a company and the way they treated me but they realy need to correct thier quality control problems two in a row with serious problems is a bit much.

Used a 113" and it was great! Loads of power, easy to tune, 2000 miles thru the very hot summer we had and no trouble! On the new bike we just finished we stepped up to the 127" to get a little more for a few hundred bucks. Started first try with lots of gas. And holy shit a lot more grunt!! Take your pick I like 'em both!

bc i was cheapin on the deal...planned on spendin 25-28k...went way over that...the 113 was plenty of power and a good base to start with and it was less moola...plus i dont really run the snot out of my bike like i did the race car...i've only done acouple burnouts and it makes enough power to pull the front wheel in first, then it skips a tooth as it hits the powerband so i usually shut it down and just ride...kinda wished i had got a bigger motor but it wouldnt matter, i wouldnt use all of it either

I've got the Ultima 113" and so far I love it. I bought it as part of a complete drivetrain package from Jay (Phantom Choppers) and so far, so good. The fit and finish are nice and so far the reliability is perfect. In my lightweight SPS, its the quickest v-twin I've ever ridden. For the money, I don't think you can beat the El Brutos.
