Been there! Ditch the front end and get another thats worth a damn. If your already willing to give up the money, buy one thats cheaper and ready to go. That way your only out the cost of the front end. And if your that close put the thing in the back of the truck and let some local pro finish it for ya. Dont give up the hole project, take the punches and adjust...Good luck!

i comming up on two years myself, haven't done any seriouse riding since then. I bought a $400 kawasaki just to get through the tough times. Go buy a half rack, sit buy the chopper and try to think of other thing. Kick your feet up on the front tire, tell that MF that it aint going to win. Buy some used parts, I dont know. Fuck just dont give up, you dont have much longer it sounds like due to the EPA rules and all. These F'n things are like alchol, there legal......BUT DAMN THEY CAN TAKE OVER!

Sick, I'm building my bike from scratch. Literally, one nut and one bolt at a time because I have to buy EVERY fastener as I discover the need for it. So believe me, I understand the testing of one's patience and the pain of occasionally pricey parts.

That said, you have accomplished a lot and are very close to being finished. Try not to get discouraged --it happens to everyone. If you have a problem with one thing, don't let it get you down. Just let it be and work on something else. Get back to the front end later. Sometimes taking a break and then going back to it let's you see it in a new way.

In a short while you'll be riding it and that's what it's all about!

Time to walk away for a bit and cool down. Don't destroy what you have so far.

Get a little distance from it mentally, do something else for a while--anything legal that is--and things will come to you. You'll get a bit clearer on the issues and not be so emotionally pissed with it all.

Just the front end and some wiring and you're good to go.
Need a break for now.

Chill.

Just chill alittle Brother. They are right. You have to stick with it. If I was in your area I would help. Try one of the shops nearby. There's always something on a bike that might be alittle over someone's head.

I can feel your stress. After your done and you start her up your whole life from then on will feel and look differant because it was you who did it!

I agree with others here...I have been in your shoes...and basically you are just hitting a wall.

Step away from it for a week or two...cover it up in the garage, and try to put it out of your mind...

The problem is that it is primo riding season and you still aren't done...that eats at your gut every day...when you see other dude's rolling down the road on a factory bike or even a custom, you are reminded of how you are not.

Set a goal to have it done by March/April of next year for riding season and that will take some of the pressure off...

The other good alternative suggested is to get professional assistance from a local shop, but that might not be a good financial alternative...

I think you would be kicking yourself if you gave up now and ditched it...a year from now you'll see it on the road and you will be wrecked...you can't get it back!

Hang in there...just adjust your expectation and slow down.

These guys are giving good advice...man let me tell ya...I know what you are feelin` like....not exactly, cause you only know that, but when I was building mine...I kept hittin` walls trying to get things to work only to find out I was given the wrong parts...or not given the parts at all....made several frikkin` trips to the place I got it from...they were good about replacing or fixing anything but dam...way too many trips down there......I had to walk away a few times and settle down and let my mind clear a bit...then I was back at it....the ride at the end will be worth all the bullshit man...it doesn't look like it now...but it will be....just my...02
