Help !!!! primary chain line up

put primary chain on with a spacer behind comp sprocket that came with my kit, sprockets did not line up comp sprocket was off the amount of the spacer, took the spacer off put a stright edge on sprockets and now they line up. does this sound right or am I doing something wrong ,this is my first primary so I thought I would ask.

actually im haveing the same problem on my friends bike , but he has the 1" ext comp shaft ... we take out the spacer and its almost dead on but with its .250" out to far.

The spacer is the one that came wit hthe alt. kit and mine is .250" That has to be used right?

I think what i need to do is buy the .500" comp ext and i will be really close.

but im like SOCAL , this is my first chain primary.
