I am getting ready to build a BBC venom. Any comments or experiences with BBC kits?

Whip, have you ordered your kit already? Did you do any upgrades?

I am expecting to do the mockup of my bike in either mid November, or early December. The final assembly should happen sometime in January.

Whip,

It sounds like you got some great upgrades! Which S&S did you go with? I went with the 107", and the Baker 6spd tranny. Do you already have the kit? When did you order it?

Yeah, I'd like to hear more on the options too. Like the price of them as well. I'm going to order a Venom chopper next week, late October, they don't list many upgrades on their site. Just currious, but how much extra is the hidden wirring and the internal throttle?

Rippo,

I think you may be speaking out of line. Have you talked with Big Bear Choppers yourself? My understanding is that your information on this subject primarily comes from Iron Horse Chopper. Since BBC and IHC seem to have had a falling out, that may not be the best source of information for BBC products.

I can't speak for BBC, but this is the information that I have. Custom Sledz, who I ordered my BBC Venom through, says BBC is now using Santee as their frame supplier. When I talked to BBC directly a few weeks back, they said that they may eventually bring this in house.

If anyone has questions, I recommend contacting Andy at BBC. He posted here as Big Bear Dude a while back, but I haven't seen him since.

BBC frames

From what i got out of conversing with BBC and then talking to PYO is that BBC pissed of Nasty boy manufacturing (there frame manufacturer) and they sold there finished stock of frame kits to PYO .
BBC still will have the venoms but they are 8 weeks behind becouse of the trans action between pyo and Nasty boy.
When BBC told me 8 weeks i went to PYO, for a 2 week wait.
Im impatient LOL what can i say . sorry BBC

Razor,

Last week I was told that it should be showing up around the 2nd week of November. This is a couple weeks later than the original date. I imagine that this could be because of the change in frame manufacturers. I was also told that it was in part due to a rush of orders after Sturgis.

Of course this could delay things as well:

"The state Forestry Department ordered a mandatory evacuation Tuesday morning of the 35,000 people at and near Big Bear Lake."
Full Story

It sure sounds like a mess down there in Southern California.
