Paint advice.

I want to attach chrome plate to my bike frame.
I made my lines on the painted frame where I shall cut the lines w/razor blade..oh so slowlyyy.
My question what do I use to seal the fresh cut end lines..clear coat etc..and I've heard some say nail polish harder.

Thanks for all info.

You are removing the underlying paint where the Plate will be positioned? Or you are looking to seal the seam of the plate to the painted surface, so no shit gets under it?
Or are you going to butt the Plate to the edge of the paint?
As to clear nail polish that stuff is thick and is brushed on.
Gonna look like my old ladys nails cheezy!

I'm going to butt the plate to the edge of the paint, and want to seal the ends where I cut..which raises another question.
After I remove the section of plate in which I cut out..down to the bare metal..what would be a good sealer to protect the frame from rusting.
