New frame-up build - MAP sensor question
First post, I prefer reading and learning on my own but some things are hard to find or understand for me anyway.
I'm building a chopper frame up and learning as I go, I'm an old guy (62) and I've worked a lot on cars but not a lot on bikes other than some modding of a Honda Shadow that I have and rewiring a Honda Superhawk. My question is around the MAP sensor on the bike I'm building.
I have a stock 2005 Twin Cam 88 that I'm using and I just bought an S&S Super E carb for it. I plan to use an Electronic ignition such as the Programmable Electronic Ignition from Ultima or a Dyna 2000 (I haven't bought that yet). Do I need to still use the MAP sensor with this setup and if so how do I connect it? I believe the MAP sensor would normally connect to the ECM.
There is likely information you need in addition to what I supplied but I'm not sure what else to add at the moment.
I'm not an idiot but I feel a bit idiotic on this as I can't seem to find the answer and I guess I don't know.
Thanks guys!

I had to google MAP sensor because it wasnt making sense. If you running a carb you dont need a map sensor.

Like Spade said, you'll have no need for that sensor.
I'm curious, what frame are you using? Will you have to register it as a special construction ?
Good luck with your build. Try and keep it as simple as possible..

Hey! welcome to the forum! Sorry if this is becoming the department of redundancy department but, a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor is only required for electronic fuel injection. So, no... you don't need it.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong (which I apparently am according to my wife's reiteration) if you're running a twin cam, the Super G carburetor from S&S seems better suited for that application.

Thanks guys!
Yea no MAP sensor with a carb, duh lol I should have known that!
I will have to title it, I have the Certificate of Origin for the frame which was never built and bills of sale for pretty much every part, based on the WI requirements I should be able to get a title.
The frame is a 2005 Santee Extra Wide. Here's a pic of where I'm at....

My wife is pretty much always right, I'll vouch for that lol. I was talking to a buddy of mine and he said the same about the Super E, I'll try it and if we can't get it set up I'll have to pick up a G.
