return throttle cable

Is there any reason to run a return throttle cable on my 2001 Roadking?

It’s a safety measure, you’ll be fine without it, you just lose the ability to force the throttle closed in case your return spring should fail.

yep, i don;t use any return cables on my bikes- too, but perhaps it's not a bad idea to have at least a kill switch within the reach.

Overall custom choppers unlike stock bikes might be more dangerous things...foot clutch, suicide /jokey shifts, open primary belts or chains, combined front and rear brakes[ or absence of either] etc.
But that's a thrill i guess...

I broke my throttle cable out in the middle of nowhere. Used the return cable as the throttle cable..Got me home. It is shorter so it was kinda weird taking off..It was sticky for the first part but then worked fine..
