Anyone see any thing like this before?

These pics are of my CFL after riding today. Had a funny feeling in the front end and when stopped and inspected this is what we found.

OppThat's crazy, its not a weld.

It will give you a reason to take apart the whole bike.

Its hard to tell, is it chromed, painted or powder coated. Oh! that last pic looks painted.

I built a Big Bear Chopper in 2006, something like this will sure get you thinking about the rest of it.

It started 3" below the neck. The welds didn't break until afterwards. And to top it off, the backbone is sheared underneath the tank!!!

Scary. Is it an original WCC frame? Is tubing mild steel or chromoly?

OP, do you think you could take a picture from a little further away. I don't have the talent to help you but I'd sure like to get a better idea of the whole picture. My old eyes and brain sometimes need crayons .

I have a buddy that I think would be interested in seeing it.

Golfish, if I take it further away the breaks wont be visible. I'm in the process of removing the components and i'll take pics again. Wait until you see the break in the backbone.

This kind of thing really interests me. I'm glad you weren't injured.

Damn! there was a thread here a few years ago about a few frames that had cracked like that, i think it was a result of a batch of bad tubing.... but i can be wrong ,if i find it i bump it up, glad you did not get hurt.
