Shinko 300/35/18 Anyone?

I will need to change the rear tire on my Chopper this winter. I presently run a Metzeler 300 and while checking out tire prices I noticed that the Shinko 300 is $125 cheaper than the Metzeler and $25 cheaper than a cobra. It seems however to have a weird tread pattern on it more like a sport bike tread.

Anyone running a 300 shinko on the back of their ride that would care to chime in?
