need new starter

After numerous rebuilds, cleaning and replacing starter clutch, I'm going to just break down and by a new one. Its obviously a bearned up motor and i just need it fixed so i can part with it. I'm selling my chop because just had a baby and between him and my 5 yr old I need something more family oriented. Like a bigass jacked up old 79 f250 offroad mud toy.

I am looking for an inexpensive starter just so I can get it running and sale it. I've been searching Amazon but not sure what to get. I want to say that my current starter is a spyke 1.4kw but not exactly sure because I bought it as a rebuilt used from an indy dealer.

I've got a SS 103" shovel head so what should be minimal kw to look for?

Best way to do that is to just go to Ebay and search and try to match up pictures of your starter..and then research for replacements...or just google different starters and click on image at the top and try to match yours up...you really shouldn't have to fork out but about $150....

That's pretty much what I'm doing but prefer amazon to ebay. They have a cap load of them for that price range I'm just not sure about wattage. Most have displacement and models but nothing as big as mine listed. I'd think a 1.8 kw starter would suffice but was hoping for some solid info before buying one.

The ultima starers would be perfect for your purpose. i have them listed in both eBay and Amazon normally but they have been on backorder for a month or more. They should be coming in soon. PM me to remind me and i'll look to see what else is close in price to them. I assume you are running a 5 or 6 speed with a modern style belt drive?

Yes, 5 speed and open belt primary. Can't really wait a month. Need something ASAP

I could do a chrome 17079 Mid USA for $199.99 or a Silver 1.4KW powerhouse for $134.99

or a black 17091 for $143
