Open primary install, Revtec trans
I'm putting a ultima open primary on my 98 Evo with a Revtec 5 speed. The problem I'm having is the clutch assembly wont slide on far enough on the trans input shaft. It is about .5" shy of where it needs to be.

Anyone run into a problem like this before?
Thanks, Mud.

You may have a trans shaft with a different taper or the shaft is too longer period. I know early shovelhead trans has 3 different main shafts and you had to match them up for clutch hub and belt alignment

There is a thread with this problem specific to the revtec tranny, do a search. I had the same problem so think it is not revtec specific.

A shame Ultima hasn't sorted the problem out yet. They sent me another hub without a problem but it had the same problem. You have to counter bore the splines on the hub so it slides on the main shaft further. See link above.
