Removing scratches on fork tubes

I have a few scratches light ones on the fork tubes from sliding through the lower tree. What can I use to remove them? I believe the tubes are hard chrome.

They say use a polish made especially for chrome.... or jewelers rouge...but first rub with fine steel wool..I've never done it but would be careful with the steel wool...You can google that and would be better off doing so before you try..

I agree with the above, You wont remove them. I even bought a special rouge that is made for chrome shops to use on a high speed buffer and it barley touched small scratches in soft chrome. Although it did not leave any scratches which is good. On one of my pipes i got mad at the burnt on oil residue and buffed them with red rouge and it took the oil off and looked like new until i fired it up and those spots turned blue because i had polished the chrome off and was looking at the nickel underneath.

I have tried everything though out the years and if its more than a faint scuff its not going to come out because the chrome is so thin the scratches are deeper.
