V-Thunder ignition module wiring diagram

Howdy! I am working on a 2004 Surgical Steed Muscle bike. It appears the ignition has failed. I am going to replace it, and it would make it much easier if I had a wiring diagram telling me what the wires do that are coming out of the module. Does anyone have a diagram for a V-Thunder model #VT12000B? I would sure appreciate it!

That is it! Only, the one I am working on does not have the Deutsche type plug, but rather, a Matelok style plug on it. Do you have a wiring code for that unit?

So much for my theory I was hoping it still had the HD style connector so we could figure out wire function from a HD wiring diagram.

The pics in this post are not coming up for me. I have the same VT12000B with an 8 pin Deutsch connector. Do you have a photo of the correct pin placement in the connector. I wish they would have made the controller with normal wire colors.

Just for trivia, I'd like to find out the colors and where they go too. Not to jack the thread, but maybe it helps. So push, I've got two harley spark units with one using the deutsch 8 pin, but 7 are used. This one is off a '93, the other I have no clue. The part number reads... 32405-91.

The other uses a different 8 pin connector, but only 7 are used. This one reads 32449-95A. I will take a guess on a few colors, maybe you can fill in the blanks. I'll run down the main/tracer wire like this. I'll begin with the '93.

405-93:
Blk/W ~
W ~
Pink ~
R ~ This should be hot to the key.
O ~
Purple ~ The VOES is this color, so I'll assume this is input from the sensor.
Blk ~ I'll assume black is used for ground.

There are 2 wires or 3 wires used for the crank pickup. Might be 2 more wires filled?

449-95A:
W/Blk ~
Blk/W ~ Hot to the key.
R/W ~
O ~
Blk ~ Ground.
Blk/W
Grn/W

Only a shop manual knows for sure.

Thanks for that info. The stock Harley wiring I understand. The problem is the Competition made ignition module shares none of the stock color wires. It is completely different. I was hoping someone had a V thunder box with the Deutsch connector that was unmolested so I could wire my box to match. I have guessed a couple of times with no success.

The later carbureted ignition modules were wired like this from the factory.

W/Blk = keyed power, commonly attached at the + side of the coil. Older modules were just solid white.
Pink = negative side of the coil. Older models had a blue wire here instead of pink. The module opens and closes the primary coil windings
Black = ground. Don't confuse with W/Blk or Blk/W. Older modules had a short black for the ground that connected to the module mounting screw. They had another long black wire for the cam sensor ground.
Violet or violet/white = VOES
Blk/W = cam sensor ground. Older modules were just black. (long black wire)
G/W = cam sensor signal wire. Older modules were just green.
R/W = cam sensor power wire. Older modules were just red.
