FWIW I have a Primo Brute III on my 1998 Bourget. Trouble free for 15 years and approx. 27,000 miles so I am very pleased with its performance.

im installing a brute iv three inch primary. a couple questions to those who know...ive always soaked clutch plates in atf for stock applications. is this acceptable for the 3 inch open primary? i just have a stock reverse thread 1 1/8 transmission shaft nut. looking at a picture of the brute iv breakdown drawing, do i need to use a primo revera nut part #1057-0001? The primo nut looks shorter than a stock hd nut. thanks in advance for replies.

No.....do not soak them in anything, especially oil based......clean em good with either alcohol or acetone.

As stated, no soaking!!!

As far as the nut, my ultima came with all the parts needed to install and did include a new nut for the tranny main shaft. I cant recall the difference between the stock nut and the nut that came with the drive.

From experience.........after you put the inner primary/motor tranny plate on, look under it and make sure it's not touching the frame. Mine was touching the frame and I actually had to sand on the inner primary a lot so it didn't touch the frame of the motorcycle. If you have that problem and don't correct it know you will have serious problems down the road...........and don't be stingy with blue loctite on the crankshaft nut.

I've never had a problem with it. Use red if you want.........make sure you have a good impact if you ever have to remove it.
