It is rather sickening! Between the wifes Z28 and my hemi truck and what little riding we have been doing lately the bastard are getting me for around $500 a month and 90% is a short commute for both of us. Thinking of selling both of them. Things could be worse.......

That exactly what I was thinking Cal.....I will pay these prices all day long ( as much as I hate to) over what the people in the south are dealing with.

I have two Subarus and would get another if I needed one. Great gas mileage and the best big snow car on the market. I've driven around our dirt road mountain in 2-3 feet of snow with no problem.
All those gas guzzler trucks and SUV's fly off the road when we get a foot of snow.

I have several good friends there in NOLA that have nothing left. They are all owners of the House of Shock (www.houseofshock.com) and it too was just relocated and rebilt but destroyed. Another is a fine artist and all his prints on paper are gone. Another is a rock star with a nice house on Lake Pontatrain and has a serious recording studio and antiques galore - in ruins. Good news is they are alive.

I don't care what the price of gas is.
I'd never get rid of my Dodge 1500 Hemi
long bed. Just to valuable. It's funny how when the price of gas goes up, so do the requests to use my truck.

Check the tickers on most of the major Gasoline distributors in the US...they have made record profit in the last few years (claiming that the price of the oil is driving the price at the pump -which it does to some degree).

The little guy is socking it to us through independent stations, but more-so are the major corporations. The sad thing is that almost nobody points the finger at them or their CEO/CIO contingent...but rather the media, and the rest of the sheep in Washington continue to make OPEC look as though they are pulling all of the strings...a barrel of crude priced at $70 dollars is about where it should be given inflation and other factors (any economist will agree).

Take the several hundred BILLION dollars that the AMERICAN gas distributors/refiners made over the last year and subtract half of it from the gallons sold and you would find that the real rapists here are the American owned gas companies.

Oh...and its 2.88 here in north Texas. I paid $2.55 on Tuesday...

My wife was complaining about gas prices and I asked her why was she complaining... she supported all the environmental lobbyists by the way she voted.

Someday you will look back and say "remember when gas was only $2.60 a gallon" I guarantee it.

But at least our caribou in Alaska are happy!!!!

Have a nice day.

Yeah, fuck the carabou!!! WTH really? Should have stuck a spicket down in that place long ago.

It's $3.20 here and while I realize some stations ARE gouging, most are not. The local truck stop owner here is PAYING $3.20 a gallon he's making .08 of 1 cent per gallon. I looked at his daily report this morning when the big increase came here. The gas in the tank may have cost less sure but gas prices aren't dictated by what's in the tank. They are based on futures. Station gouging and oil company gouging are 2 totally different things. $5.88 in GA is station gouging. Anything over $2.00 a gallon anywhere is oil company gouging IMHO.

He also told me that in the last month or so, the average of credit card charged fuel has gone from about 4000 to about 10,000 a week. I dunno bout the rest of the country but I gaurentee within the next couple monthes there will be some seriously broke sumnbitches around here.

$3.09 - 3.29 here in Ohio. Gotta run premium in the bike and my Supercharged 4Runner, damn it ain't cheap either! Drive a 90' Volvo wagon back and forth to work, gets around 28mpg. I can live with that, guess the bike and toyota will do ALOT of garage time for a while!! I THINK I HEAR A HORSE/BUGGY COMBO CALLING MY NAME! LOL!!
