I was in a tornado in Scottsdale must have been 1974-75 not sure of the exact year I was only 11 or 12 yo.
It destroyed our home we were about to move into on 63rd and Sweetwater.

I grew up in Ill and we had tornados every year. They would go into the trailer parks and take out two rows of trailers, leave the next two and then take out three more rows. It was insane!
We should consider ourselves lucky it wasn't worse.  |

I lived in Chandler (outside of Phoenix) for 15 years until around 1997...never saw a Tornado...would love to move back, but the California boom has pushed real-estate waaaaay up...
Cracker box houses built in the late 70's are going for 200K WTF??? That scares me more than the damn tornado!
Watch that housing bubble...there are a lot of people who remember the prices in CA in the late 80's and early 90's...many people were upside down in their houses and lost their ass...I hope that Arizona doesn't see that same issue.
Here in Texas it seems the value slowly creeps upward...but at least you know where you stand and you can buy a mansion for 300K

no shit.. the weather has been crazy here in OH too! 3 days before Xmas we got 18 inches of snow. on Xmas eve it dropped to -11 degrees out. 4 days after that is was 50. it has been non-stop rain ever since, everything is flooded. i'm getting ready to join ClubArk so i can learn how to build one!

a week and a half ago it was down to 15 deg. in St. Louis and then a few days later (last thursday) it was 69 deg. Crazy, but got some riding in. The past 5 days it has been pouring here.

I guess we're not in Kansas anymore Toto! Were any funnel clouds actually spotted? It rained so hard that it made my garage leak right though the foundation. I am dying to take a canoe down the 'river' that is flowing beside Hayden!!!!

I live in Glendale, watched the storm. It had a nasty lower cloud heading down with a slight twist. We had rain, lightning and 1/2" hail. No tornado, just a nasty cell traveling. Personaly, I think the news was trying to drum up excitement. Then they found the Oklahoma storm chaser, after that the news was looking for reasons to yell "TORNADO"
