if he's got a record of phone calls and emails, i'd assume that he's already gone that route. perhaps even exhausted it, given that he didn't seem too hasty in explaining his ordeal here. not that i'd know; i haven't talked to him. but it seems pretty clear from reading his posts here.

Assume? You should know what assuming does.
Nothing is clear, except the fact that he has an issue that needs resolved and it will not be done here.

well what if we were both asses to start with? then what does assuming do?
you seem to be missing a big obvious point, which is peculiar since you were they guy who started this thread, asking for experiences from those who have dealt directly with phantom...
his posting about these experiences is a very direct question for information you asked about. you did post with that sincere intention, no? for someone to post up information that is very closely what you asked about, then for you to respond to them as though it's not relevent, seems odd.

Speak for yourself...
I do appreciate all posts regarding Phantom (or companies), both positive and negative. I have and will check them out.
However, my point is that anyone who feels they got taken should act in their best interest towards satisfactory resolution. If he cannot get the company to make good on their promises by discussion, then he will have to restort to legal actions, IF he has the necessary grounds for such action. There is assumption here that a transaction has taken place and that it did not go well. Neither of us have proof of either occurring.
Any public discussions like on a forum can be used against him and might result in no settlement. It's not worth the risk.
BTw, between you and me, I am having a hard time taking what anyone who goes by poop says seriously... your personal assessment doesn't inspire confidence unless the topic is about fertilizer, excretion, etc.

it involves anyone who might ever want information on this forum about what it's like to do business with phantom. that's my only dog in this, rick. when a discussion comes up about dealing with someone, the information should be available to all who want to read this forum. without editing, deleting, locking of threads, or bullying from guys like you who cannot stand for a conflicting opinion to be posted.
rick, like i said last week in a PM, i still like you, think you're a nice guy, but you're being a little bitch about this. and a bit of a bully, too, if you expect to discourage others from posting their experiences by hounding them around the forum and calling names. no matter how many exclamation points you use...
and if you stir up shit and create an argument in a thread, and the mods because of that lock or delete or edit that thread, then they are in cahoots with the bullying, whether they intend to be or not. they make themselves de facto collaborators, if that's in fact how they respond to a guy starting a fight. it doesn't make the rest of the information in the thread irrelevent.
the forum's about information, and there seem to be a lot of people protesting legitimate information about phantom getting out there. you, rick, and others who protest so much, are making it much worse than it otherwise would be. jay's a big boy. all this forum is about is information. once this stuff is out there, then we don't need to keep hashing it out. we'll be able to do the same thing we do with ultima and rev tech and cal customs and whatever else: we'll say "do a search." but a search doesn't mean very much if the information doesn't get posted, or stay posted.

So hash away, eventually it will come out as to your "agenda" here.

i just explained my agenda above, you should try sounding it out if you didn't pick it up the first time.
i have been accused by some on this forum, long ago, for having a beef against ultimas. i've tried to be very diplomatic, and to point out the positive aspects of my experiences with them, all to avoid some of the flagrant bullying that can uncork when somebody posts something negative about an ultima. so why would i even bother?
because before i bought my 127, i asked a lot of people about their experiences. and i trusted that no negative comments meant no negative experiences. when i had major issue after major issue with my ultima mill, i had to do a lot of research to get to the bottom of my problems, because simply getting the warrantied fix wasn't cutting it. along the way, i found that there were a lot of negative experiences with ultima along the way--an inordinate amount, in fact--and i felt pretty sour about not having found those out before my purchase, particularly since i'd gone out of my way to find what i could. so when i hear somebody else ask, and they seem genuinely interested in learning, i offer up. i'm not going to be a coward and not fess up, just to avoid some bully making insinuations and telling me i have a hidden agenda.
i've had bad experiences with various products, rick. what keeps a marketplace relatively clean of poor products is information. coincidently, rick, what this forum is about is information. club chopper is a great place to learn about various businesses, products and services.
but not everybody would have it that way. some want to protect their social circle at all costs, and throw themselves in front of a bus to prevent a bad word getting out about somebody they deem popular. i don't care if it's jay, kjell, gypsy, chip myler, kendall johnson, S&S, ultima, revtech, primo, karata, etc... if there's information to be had about a product or builder that's relevent to doing business, then it should be out there. the good ones can survive the negative information out there. when i see so much effort thrown into bullying or censoring anyone who might have relevent information, i see bullshit.
there, is that sounded out well enough for you? of course, if you check my last post to you on this thread above, you'll see i had already stated that as my agenda: information. there you go, rick. your conspiracy theory explained.

thanks, will. i'm not trying to bring anyone down, here. my stand is about keeping this forum an open and inviting place for people to share information. if that puts me in conflict with friends, mods, or people i don't even know, i'll hope to hell it doesn't last long. but i don't believe in suppressing information that can help members here, either by bullying, name calling, or deletion or locking threads.
from the bottom of my heart, i'm standing up for what i believe makes this forum a stronger forum.
