Well he seems to have a "mission" here, since he adds nothing useful to this forum whatsoever. I would just like to know how this all affects his life? What does he gain from all of this? Nobody goes to these lengths without an agenda that directly affects them, period!!! And thats it in a nutshell. I already know the answers. I actually think this is pretty funny at this point.

You just confirmed my statement, Not busting your balls but you are all over the swing of style in frame design, application, and final outcome.

Start making a list of the components that you want, and pick the frame geometry that you think looks awesome. For example you should already know who makes a set of triple trees that turn your crank. Then you can tell your builder these are the components you want, other wise you are going to end up with another $12k E-bay special full of tiawan bolt on parts, because your builder was trying to meet the quoted price.

You're right.

I have an idea.

You Should Create a thread in Phantoms section and ask him these questions.

They are legitimate questions.

And we can Let Rick go through his titling process. When it's all said and done, He will report back to us.

Until then, Lets see what happens.
Thanks Mr Scary for fulfilling your moderating duties in the best interest of forum members. I think we have established that it is safe to say rlwjr13 is willing to lie to protect his best interest and his word is no longer valid.

Well, well rlwjr13. I think it's already been established that you're a liar. Now your going to establish what's useful hmmm.. ? What mission are you referring to. Ever hear of paranoid ? You say you know the answers what are they ? Why don't you enlighten us ?

Now for some useful info instead of the lies and deceit that spew from your mouth rlwjr13

dcinpa,

I'm assuming you're looking for a built bike and not a kit bike. Never bought a built bike from Phantom. Based on my experience with Phantom his time lines are pretty ambiguous. The time lines seemed and sounded good at the beginning of the deal for me. Then halfway through the deal I got one of those "the dog ate the frame deals". I eventually did receive all the parts some wrong some right won't get into all that as it's a real long story that perhaps I will share in it's entirety someday soon.

I would establish a realistic time line with whoever you get to build the bike and hold the builder to it.

If you pay 100% up front your asking for trouble.

Ask for a list of customers that you could call. Don't fall for the I build confidentially for celebrities and can't give out #'s crap from any builder.

Have the builder present with a portfolio of past and present work. Most builders websites usually are pretty good. Just make sure the bikes pictured are actually theirs. If there's only a few pics to look at oh well..... everybody's got to start somewhere your choice.

You're right about one thing - there are a number styles, manufacturers that can fit the bill. I have my grocery list(right down to the oil) but it isn't carved in stone. I expect the builder to know more than me. I expect the builder to find the flaws in my design and improve.

You don't know me, but I have been in sales a long time. Can I be bullshitted? Of course, but you better be damn good and hope you have none of my money. I will checking out builders in depth - if you can't give an honest answer to a serious question like "why won't this company do business with you?", none of my cash will make it into your wallet. That takes time and in this industry, if you are in a hurry, you stand a really good chance of getting ripped off.

There is a budget. Has to be or you'll be mortgaging the house.

As I said in a previous posts, the bike has to be well-built. Of course, I'm gonna go over any parts list & check them all out. Not one penny will change hands unless that list is part of a legal order. Can there be changes? Only if agreed upon. Will there be a deadline? yes, but a realistic one for both of us.

Well-built, looks, bad ass awesome, ride anywhere, anytime.

Thanks again for lookin' out...

Just so you know, not all the info is coming back rosy on any builder I've asked about here.

Got negative feedback on Yaffe, BBC, and Phantom. Most of it outside this fourm. But that will be happen with any company and any product.

RRSA...Why is it always "someday soon" or "I'm not ready to say" with you? You demand answers from others to questions you infer that you already have answers to. Why the dance if not on a mission?

I was thinking the same thing. Soon, someday, not enough time, too long, not ready. Then why mention it to begin with????
