That's the good & bad side to customs. You want a one off and you have to suffer through the regs.

Hmnn... Have you been reading this thread ? As I previously stated. I was led to believe the bike met epa guidelines has Phantom has stated he's spent large sums off money to comply. As far as the one off custom bike, I was led to believe I was buying a kit that easy to register and insure with MFG. Title as it says in the website.

Well you have your right to your opinion. I'm curious to what business you're running as I feel this is a fair warning.

i think RRSA's questions were very valid ones. You can never have to much information, especially when a person is going to spend over 20 grand!!!!
just my opinion

I think they are too,so rather then sit around on a forum and ask PICKUP THE PHONE AND CALL.
If he doesnt have the initiative to do that then I cant feel sorry for him.

His response to your comment was priceless.
Oh and by the way
I think no response from Phantom should answer your question RRSA.

The motor is EPA compliant as of the required deadline of 2006. You must use the provided air cleaner with the flap, the ignition that is provided and cannot make mods to anything like the cam. In 2008, the guidelines step up again which will require additional modifications to be compliant like specific exhaust and so forth. This does NOT meet the specific and individual rules of CARB in California. They require seperate testing and certifications.
RRSA- You can call me if you would like to talk to me about anything.

The first epa approved carb, with the trap door. was designed by the machinist for apc american performance cycles in Nevada
http://www.radcustomparts.com/airfilter.htm
I haven't seen the ones you are talking about. But I know he has the patent on the trap door type.
The only air filter assembly currently approved for the California 2007 EPA emissions standard. Patent pendinf #60/821,540.
