Shovelhead oil line routing

Hey, I've busted my ass looking for info on this pump & have come up with nothing. All the info I find shows 2 lines side by side on the top of the oil pump. Mine has a line to the bottom and a 2nd half way up the face of the pump. I assume that the bottom line is the infeed but hate to guess. Someone must know which is which and why don't I see much on this pump??
btw: 77 1200 engine..

Thanks

Send me a picture and I will tell you exactly what lines go where! lrchoppers@yahoo.com

Either that or I need a better explanation for the current location of each line fitting.

On those older oil pumps, there is a feed to the primary for primary chain oiling and there is a fitting on the face of the pump for the rear chain oiler. You probably don't need to use either of those.

All you need is the feed, return, top vent, and vent

Maybe this diagram from T & O will help.

DB, thanks I'll get pics to ya..

Big Mike Thanks, but that's what I keep diggin up. That shows your in/out on the top. My in/out's are on the face of the pump.

Don't even tell me that I've got you guys stumped!!!! AA that's basically the same pump that BigMike posted. Both of those diagrams show a pump with the feed and return side by side atop the pump. Mine has them stacked one above the other. In the background of my pic is my crankcase vent (hosed). At the top of the pic is my vent to the tank.
Thanks for the input Alfy.

Not sure. It's pretty basic.

Some pumps feed from the top...some from the middle...and some can feed from the bottom...right next to the line that feeds the oil filter.

That's actually an aftermarket oil pump outer cover, which eliminates the primary/chain oiler fittings..They were "the shit" in late 70's-early 80's for those electing to run primary belts.I can't remember who made them, but I had one way back when.........and yes, they were different as they progressed in popularity and different manufacturers started making them.Best way to tell which fitting is which is to see which fitting's passage goes to which set of gears in the pump.Make sure you have the correct thickness gasket between that cover and the pump also.
