Are they threaded bungs welded to the tank? If so can easily put a tube from one to the other however being on the top of the tank may not work either.

I didn't know you did such good work. I think that bike should be in The Horse Magazine. I was looking for ideas for a gs750 I'm building and I stumbled on your bike. Too bad you can't put a clear tube in where those site glasses are. Who did the paint and leather work? LOOKS GREAT !

rick, they are threaded bungs, but i'm not hating them enough to change them out. i'd just give that disclaimer to anyone that asked me about them. those guages came in a weird thread, though. bspp, british standard parallel pipe. fittings to convert i could hunt down, no doubt. but if i was going to use an external tube, i'd have used smaller, npt bungs, and placement would have been a little different. but no worries here.

ray, thanks for the compliments. i stopped my subscription to the horse years ago. i like some of the bikes, but could not stand to read another word of hammer's or englishman's drivel. i was a fan many years ago, but somewhere along the way couldn't stop shaking my head at every column of theirs. maybe i've just been in an ill mood for several years. (?) but i kinda think it's them.

the paint is by a buddy of mine, danny dailey. he does some work for guys he meets online, i think. i'm pretty sure he spends his time at the jockey journal, but i don't know what his handle is. if you want me to put you in contact with him ever, just pm me.

the leatherwork is from a local saddle builder. he did the seat for about a hundred, and the battery box for about a hundred, and the grips were a bit cheaper, although i cannot remember the exact price. but it was way less than i'd expect to pay elsewhere, and the guy was just up the street and the turnaround was awesome (couple of days) and the service even better. i'd also be happy to put you, or anyone else, in contact with him.

thanks again for the compliments and suggestions, y'all. have a great weekend!

FUCKING AWSUM POOP !!!!!

there's not one thing i would want to change on it if it was my bike.

you've got some great friends there !! nice of them to offer there guidance / services when you asked.

it's a feeling that's better than gettin laid, when you take your bike, that you created, out for the first time..... all the while knowing there's not another one like it.

you did a FIRST CLASS JOB on your build Poop !!

now it's time to start thinking about your next one......

A lot of very painstaking workmanship in this build!
The tuning issues with this engine will be running lean from no carb intake filters.
Even some pod filters will not get rid of the lean running and hesitation. You will need to put in richer idle jets.

Main jets probably will need to go up one step also. Check your plug readings.

donald, i have a new idea for my air cleaners. it's a little out of the box... might take awhile, might not even work out. but at least i finally came up with a plan i feel good about.

i don't have a completely specific plan, but i'm going to make something with two grades of brass screen, and perhaps mold a rubber boot. i'm not holding any big ace, just not sure how it's gonna play out. so, like the rest of this build, i'll just not say much until i figure out what i'll be happy with, and this time be sure it tunes fine.

Frame looks really good. I'm just getting started into bikes. Been doin custom trucks for 14 years. Any info or "heads up" is great. I have an 06 cfl 4up 2ouy frame. Been collecting all the hard to find WCC stuff. But that's about done. I know this is a different beast but I'm up for the challenge.
