Chopping a shadow
I have a shadow spirit1100 and I would like to stretch the frame up 6 and out 3. It has double downtubes and a weird double bowed backbone. Anybody done one or have ideas how?

I know exactly how to do that.
First question, Do you want the same steering head or a HD type steering head.
The frame will need to be in a fixture for this modification with a set of cones to hold the steering head.
When you say UP 6" out 4 inches that is a term used based on a Harley Davidson frame.
A particular Harley Davison frame.
Since this is a Honda frame those terms do not really work.
You will need to put the frame on a table 20 inches above the floor that is level in BOTH directions.
Then use two rectangular steel tubes about .120 thickness at least 7 feet long.
Attach that to the table under the frame and add a vertical post for the steering head cone holder.
You can get those from Bitter End choppers. They also have other parts you can use.
Once the frame is in the fixture and clamped down with the cones in the steering neck you can start making some decisions.
If it is going to be a rigid frame(hard tail ) then you need to get the frame 5 inches above the table surface. Assume the table surface is the ground.
Then get a chair and place it away from the frame so that you can get a good side view of the entire motorcycle. Straight on view.
Make decisions about the length, steering head angle and other things.
Since it is the stock frame the engine will fit so make sure you do not alter the frame and then the engine does not fit. Get one of those hydraulic lift tables and lift the engine into the frame so you are working with the real circumstances .
I would cut the top frame tube on that single large tube and find a tube to put inside of that tube.
If you can avoid cutting the steering head off of the frame it will be easier to get it all lined up.

dam, i wish i had the pics. of when i did my frame,, you def need to make a frame jig, and have an idea of how you want it. if you only use the stock frame, be super careful of of the tubes, you have to be very careful of the engine fitting. yes went down that road, and had to do it over. (lesson learned) lol
