wide tire setups on shaft drive builds

Now I know most of the bikes floating around with this kind of modification have much LARGE tires on the bike...but I'm looking at put a 170 or 180 on the back of a Honda CX500 (you can see the build here. Right now I'm picturing it by having a custom CV shaft made to let me move the dif over about 30mm.

I'm wondering if there are other ways and I just feel like this is a territory some of you might be more versed in.

I'm also quite interested in stock steel shaft drive swingarms with offset final drives that might accommodate a 180mm tire...if any exist.

Your feedback would be appreciated!
